Works great. Easier to install. Eliminated drilling and wiring from one floor to other. Faster enough to work. Like the product. Thanks to Amazon for the good price and free shipping.
Good product and well taken care of by the supplier - we got a modem in one of the boxes but they sent us a new one as soon as i phoned them about the problem.
Installed this product in a computer that has been in use for 9 yrs. It works wonderfully and was very glad that I made this selection. The instructions for this OS. I found to be a little disjointed but with careful choices was up and running in short time. But for my OS. instructions I would have given it five stars and I'm sure it would be an excellent pick for more modern versions of Windows as well.
Signal strength is excellent for my home application. The computer immediately recognized the adapter but needed drivers. Once that was entered, it has worked great. When I did that the computer automatically found the drivers, loaded them and asked for my WEP info. But, though I had a good signal, I also immediately received an error message. The install had a twist.
There are two sets of instructions: one for vista and one for xp. I have xp so followed them carefully (not difficult at all). Just received new wireless-g pci adapter. If you are worried about it, install the adapter and call Linksys first. Then, re-install the adapter and turn the computer on. I was instructed to put the software cd in the computer. You'll be working in no time.
Got thru in seconds. This computer is located 50' from the router (other end of the house) and it works like a charm. So, if you are running xp, do NOT load the software first like the instructions tell you. Called Linksys immediately. They asked me to remove the software, turn off the computer, and uninstall the adapter. Install the adapter, turn on the system and then put the cd in for Windows to find your drivers. Enjoy.
My son had no trouble instaling this. It did req. him moving the router around a little in the other room. to get a good signal.
